Terms of Service

Last Updated: February 26, 2026

Welcome to Married on Maui LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service outline the rules and expectations for using our website and engaging our wedding planning services. Please read them carefully before using our site or hiring us to plan your celebration.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website at marriedonmauillc.com or engaging our wedding planning services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.

These terms apply to all visitors, clients, and anyone who interacts with our website or retains our services. A separate planning agreement will be provided when you formally engage Married on Maui LLC for wedding planning services. In the event of a conflict between these Terms of Service and your individual planning agreement, the planning agreement will take precedence.

2. Services Description

Married on Maui LLC provides destination wedding planning, coordination, and design services on the island of Maui, Hawai’i. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Full-service wedding planning — end-to-end coordination from concept to celebration, including vendor selection, timeline development, and on-site management.
  • Partial planning and coordination — assistance with specific aspects of your wedding, such as vendor recommendations, logistics, or day-of coordination.
  • Wedding design and styling — creative direction for your ceremony and reception, including decor concepts, color palettes, and aesthetic guidance.
  • Vendor introductions and management — connecting you with trusted local vendors and managing those relationships on your behalf.

We are a planning and coordination service. We do not own or operate venues, catering companies, floral studios, or any other vendor businesses. While we carefully curate our vendor recommendations, each vendor operates independently and is responsible for delivering their own services under their own terms.

3. Booking and Payment

Planning Process

Our engagement process works as follows:

  1. Free consultation — We start with a complimentary conversation to learn about your vision, answer your questions, and determine whether we are a good fit for each other.
  2. Custom proposal ($250) — If we decide to move forward, we create a detailed, personalized wedding proposal tailored to your vision, budget, and guest count. The $250 proposal fee covers the time and research involved in crafting your custom plan.
  3. Planning agreement — Once you approve the proposal, we draft a formal planning agreement outlining the scope of services, timeline, and total planning fee.

Payment Terms

  • The $250 proposal fee is due before we begin work on your custom proposal.
  • A 50% deposit of the total planning fee is required to secure your date and begin active planning. Your wedding date is not reserved until this deposit is received.
  • The remaining balance is due according to the schedule outlined in your individual planning agreement, typically no later than 30 days before your wedding date.
  • We accept payment via credit card, bank transfer, and other methods specified in your planning agreement.

Vendor fees (venue rental, catering, photography, florals, etc.) are separate from our planning fees. You will contract with and pay vendors directly, unless otherwise arranged in your planning agreement.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Proposal Fee

The $250 proposal fee is non-refundable. This fee compensates for the research, vendor outreach, and creative work involved in building your custom proposal, regardless of whether you choose to proceed.

Planning Fee Deposits

  • More than 180 days before the wedding date — If you cancel your wedding or our services more than six months before your scheduled date, we will refund 50% of your deposit. The remaining 50% covers planning work already completed.
  • 90 to 180 days before the wedding date — The deposit is non-refundable, but may be applied as a credit toward a rescheduled event within 12 months.
  • Less than 90 days before the wedding date — All fees paid, including the deposit and any subsequent payments, are non-refundable. Significant planning work, vendor commitments, and logistical arrangements will have been made by this point.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule your wedding date, we will make every effort to accommodate the change. Rescheduling is subject to our availability and may incur additional fees depending on the extent of replanning required. Vendor rescheduling fees, if any, are your responsibility.

Cancellation by Married on Maui

We reserve the right to terminate our engagement if a client engages in abusive, threatening, or otherwise unacceptable behavior toward our team or vendors. In such cases, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion based on work completed.

5. Client Responsibilities

A successful destination wedding depends on clear communication and collaboration. As our client, you agree to:

  • Respond to communications in a timely manner. Destination weddings involve coordinating across time zones and multiple vendors. Delayed responses can affect pricing, availability, and the overall planning timeline.
  • Provide accurate information about your guest count, budget, preferences, and any other details relevant to planning your event.
  • Meet payment deadlines for both our planning fees and vendor deposits. Late payments may result in the loss of reserved vendor dates or services.
  • Obtain required permits and documentation. We will guide you through the process, but you are ultimately responsible for securing your marriage license and any other legal documents required for your ceremony in the State of Hawai’i.
  • Inform us of changes to your plans, guest count, budget, or any other factors that may affect the planning process as soon as possible.
  • Treat all vendors and our team with respect in all communications and interactions.

6. Limitation of Liability

Married on Maui LLC acts as a planning and coordination service. While we take great care in every detail, there are factors beyond our control:

  • Vendor performance — We recommend and coordinate with vendors based on our experience and professional judgment, but each vendor is an independent business. We are not liable for any vendor’s failure to perform, quality of service, or breach of their own agreements with you.
  • Weather and natural events — Maui’s weather, while generally beautiful, is not something we can guarantee. Rain, wind, high surf, volcanic haze (vog), or other natural conditions may affect outdoor ceremonies and events. We always develop a backup plan, but cannot be held responsible for weather-related disruptions.
  • Force majeure — We are not liable for cancellations, delays, or disruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, airline disruptions, or other extraordinary circumstances.
  • Third-party venues and properties — We do not own, operate, or maintain any venue. Venue conditions, policies, and access are governed by the venue owners or managers.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to our services will not exceed the amount of planning fees you have paid to Married on Maui LLC.
