Locally grown tropical blooms, designed for your day
Hawai'i grows some of the most unusual flowers on Earth, and we use them. We work with locally grown blooms: plumeria, bird of paradise, king protea, orchids, and tropical greenery sourced from Maui farms and nurseries. Every design starts with a consultation about your color palette, wedding style, and preferences. From there, we build custom arrangements for the bridal bouquet, ceremony arch or chuppah, aisle décor, reception centerpieces, cake florals, and personal flowers for the wedding party. Whether you want something loose and organic or clean and structured, the work is grounded in what actually grows here.

The Problem
Mainland florists shipping flowers that wilt within hours of a Hawaiian ceremony
Generic arrangements that could be from any hotel lobby, not a Maui wedding
No knowledge of what actually grows on-island or what is in season this month
Paying premium import prices when better, fresher options grow twenty minutes away
Ceremony flowers that blow away because nobody checked the wind at your venue

What You Get
Flowers that belong here look different. Your guests will notice.
Most mainland florists work with roses, peonies, and hydrangeas shipped in from South America or the Netherlands. That is fine for a wedding in New York. But you are getting married in Hawaii, and Hawaii grows flowers that do not exist anywhere else in the United States. Our floral design starts with what the island produces, and it makes a visible difference.
King protea is the signature bloom of upcountry Maui. It grows on the slopes of Haleakala at around 3,000 to 4,000 feet of elevation, and it is one of the most striking flowers you will ever hold in a bouquet. Big, architectural, with a texture that photographs like nothing else. We use it in bridal bouquets, ceremony installations, and centerpieces. One king protea in a bouquet of greenery makes a stronger statement than thirty roses packed tight.
Plumeria is what most people think of when they think of Hawaiian flowers. The scent alone can bring you back to the islands years later. We use plumeria in lei, boutonnieres, and loose arrangements. Bird of paradise adds height and drama to ceremony arches and large reception pieces. Orchids, both dendrobium and phalaenopsis, grow abundantly on Maui and give us range from delicate to bold. Heliconia, with its red and orange claw-shaped bracts, works well in tall arrangements and entryway pieces.
For greenery, we pull from monstera leaves, ti leaves (which also have deep cultural significance in Hawaiian tradition), ferns from the wet side of the island near Hana, and eucalyptus varieties that grow on local farms. We source from Maui-based growers first. When a specific flower is not available locally, we work with Big Island farms or Oahu suppliers before considering anything shipped from the mainland.
Every wedding starts with a floral consultation. We talk about your color palette, the style of your dress, the vibe you are going for, and the specifics of your venue. Flowers that look great at an indoor venue like Haiku Mill wedding venue, with its stone walls and intimate courtyard, are different from what works at an open-air oceanfront spot in Wailea. Lighting, wind, temperature, and backdrop all affect which blooms hold up and which ones wilt.
We build a proposal with specific flower selections, arrangement descriptions, and pricing for every item. Bridal bouquet. Bridesmaid bouquets. Boutonnieres and corsages. Ceremony arch or chuppah. Aisle markers. Welcome sign arrangement. Cocktail hour flowers. Reception centerpieces. Cake florals. Lei for the couple, parents, or the full wedding party. Each item is designed individually but built to work together as a full visual story.
The ceremony is where floral design makes the biggest impact. A well-built arch or arbor covered in tropical flowers and greenery frames the couple against the Maui landscape. We build structures ranging from simple driftwood arches with loose greenery to full-coverage installations with hundreds of blooms. For beach ceremonies, we often use asymmetrical designs that let the ocean show through rather than blocking the view. For garden or estate weddings, we can build more lush, dense pieces because there is a backdrop of trees and walls to work with.
Ground arrangements along the aisle, hanging installations for covered venues, flower-covered ceremony chairs, and scattered petals are all options. We will tell you honestly what is worth the cost and what is not. Aisle petals, for example, look great in photos but can blow away in wind. We know which venues have wind issues and will steer you toward something more practical if your ceremony site is exposed.
Centerpieces need to work with how people sit and talk at a table. Tall arrangements block the view across the table. Low and wide arrangements can crowd the place settings. We design pieces that fit the table dimensions, the number of settings, and the overall room layout. For long farm tables, we often do garland runners with flowers woven in. For round tables, a mix of high and low arrangements creates visual variety across the room.
We also handle the non-floral elements that tie into table design: candles, votives, lanterns, and decorative objects that complement the flowers. If you are working with a rental company for tableware, we coordinate with them to make sure the linens, plates, and glassware work with the floral palette.
Lei are central to Hawaiian celebrations. For weddings, we make open lei (the kind that drape over the shoulders) from orchids, plumeria, maile leaves, or tuberose. Maile lei have particular significance. They are traditionally given to men and represent respect and honor. Tuberose lei are intensely fragrant and classic for women. We can create lei for the couple, the wedding party, parents, grandparents, or every guest. Fresh flower crowns, called haku lei, are another option and photograph especially well on brides and flower girls.
If you are interested in how Hawaiian cultural elements can be part of your ceremony, we are happy to walk you through the traditions and help you incorporate them respectfully. You can also check our Hawaiian wedding entertainment options for cultural performances that pair well with a florally rich ceremony.
All floral design includes delivery, on-site setup, styling, and next-day pickup of any rented vessels or structures. We do a site visit at your venue before the wedding to confirm measurements, access points, and setup logistics. Pricing depends on the scope: a bridal bouquet and a few centerpieces is a very different project from a full ceremony installation with reception florals for 100 guests. We give you a detailed line-item quote after the consultation so you know exactly what everything costs before committing. For help understanding how florals fit into an overall budget, check our wedding packages and pricing page.
